Giant icebergs, stuck in the shallow waters at the exit of the Jakobshavn Fjord, block the passage for the pressing masses of ice on their way to Disko Bay. These ice giants can free themselves and drift out into the open sea only when their underwater parts have melted a little, enabling them to slide through the shallow bank. (aerial view)
