The Viedma Glacier is 35 kilometres long and extends from the southern ice cap of the Andes in South America downhill to the lake of the same name, which is largely fed by the melt water of the glacier. The many bands of moraines show that several ice tongues have joined together in the ice mass of the glacier. (aerial view)
