Chitina River, Alaska, USA/Colours of the Earth

The murky melt-water, which flows through the criss-crossed riverbed of the Chitina River comes from the Chitina Glacier in the Wrangell–St Elias Mountains. It is laden with fine rock flour and sand, which the glacier ice has ground off from the mountain rock. (aerial view)
