Tungurahua soars 5,023 metres up into the sky. It belongs to the chain of 20 fire-spewing mountains that line Ecuador's part of the famous Ring of Fire. Tungurahua is very dangerous as during fierce eruptions, pyroclastic flows roll down its sides scorching everything on the way. Glowing lava streams often reach fields and villages at the foot of the volcano. (aerial view)
